More Wood, Shadows, and Sunlight

| Labels: | Posted On Saturday, December 12, 2009

This time, I really wanted to look at wood. I noticed some cool stuff when it comes to how dark woods play out in black and white. Especially the more rustic looking stuff. I also really liked the elongation of the shadows from the fence.

Blue skies ahead...or...gray.

I've decided that photographing sky...and JUST sky is hard in black and white. Although I can't help but still think they look kinda cool. A little vintage, but cool. But hey...vintage is sort of in style isn't it? *grin*

Wood and Faces in B/W

Black and white with faces in the shade really brings out some interesting features. I've noticed that it really helps bring out the eyes, as well as any contrast between the hair and the face. Wood, is also really good with b/w. I like seeing the accents and lines that are left in the lumber.

Also, the shimmer of the wind chines was kinda cool... I liked.

Water drops... at 9.8 meters per second per second...

I like to photograph water, particularly water drops. I got these during a shoot with a couple friends, and the first is still one of favorites ever. Black and white film makes up for a multitude of photography sins too :P
